The Zăganu Story

Zăganu is a Romanian craft beer, brewed 100% independently since 2013 in a small brewery at the foot of the Ciucaș Mountains, in the village of Măneciu-Ungureni. We chose to make beer differently: unfiltered, unpasteurised, with no compromises, using natural ingredients and our own recipes.

The name comes from the bearded vulture (Zăganu), a rare bird of the Carpathians and a symbol of freedom and courage. Our beer is the same: full of character, authentic, Romanian.

Behind every bottle is a small but passionate team. We are not part of a big group. We don’t follow trends. Zăganu remains a conscious choice, for those who appreciate real taste.

You can find us at our brewery in Măneciu-Ungureni, at Zăganu Craft Beer Bar in Bucharest (Calea Victoriei 91-93), at Zăganu Taproom in Obor Market and at partner venues across the country.
