Craft beer is produced in small batches, usually by independent microbreweries, using traditional methods and carefully selected ingredients. Unlike industrial beer, craft beer contains no artificial additives or preservatives, giving it an authentic, complex flavor.
A major benefit of unpasteurized beer is its probiotic potential. Some craft beers, especially unfiltered and unpasteurized ones, can contain beneficial microorganisms that support digestive health and gut microbiome balance. The gentler processing helps preserve a richer content of natural nutrients.
Filtering is the step that clarifies beer by removing leftover yeast particles, proteins, and other residues. With unfiltered beer, this step is skipped or done minimally. As a result, small natural particles of yeast and protein remain suspended, giving the beer a cloudy look but also a richer, more complex flavor.
Zăganu craft beers have varying shelf lives depending on the beer style, alcohol level, and the specific fermentation time. Shelf life ranges from 90 days up to 365 days.

From selecting high-quality ingredients to natural fermentation and carefully following the production process, everything requires attention — many hands-on steps where our brewers leave their mark, and of course, resources that are reflected in the final price.
Yes! Many of our customers asked us whether we make non-alcoholic beer too. We listened, and put all our expertise into a new recipe. That's how the first non-alcoholic beer in the Zăganu collection was born: Zăganu Non-Alcoholic.
